This Privacy Policy explains how personal information is collected, used, stored and shared when you use the FITSTRONG website, coaching portal, Android application and related coaching services.

1. Information we collect
The information collected depends on the FITSTRONG services and features you use.
Account and profile information
This may include your name, email address, telephone number, date of birth, gender, height, goals, password or authentication information, and other details you provide in your profile.
Training and fitness information
This may include workouts, exercises, sets, repetitions, resistance loads, training duration, distance, completed sessions, training history, personal bests, fatigue ratings, pain notes, workout comments and coaching feedback.
Body measurement and progress information
This may include body weight, girth measurements, skinfold measurements, body-composition calculations and progress photographs that you choose to upload.
Nutrition information
Where nutrition features are enabled, this may include food diary entries, meal information, energy intake, macronutrient intake, nutrition targets and related nutrition records.
Coaching and health-related information
Where relevant to your coaching, you may voluntarily provide information about training history, injuries, medical conditions, pain, physical limitations, competition results and other information needed to help your coach adapt your programme appropriately.
RacePace integration data
If RacePace integration is enabled for your account, selected training information may be exchanged between FITSTRONG and RacePace. This may include completed strength sessions and selected running, walking, cycling or swimming activity information needed to coordinate training and fatigue monitoring.
Payment and programme information
FITSTRONG may retain information about programmes purchased, payment status, programme activation and transaction references. Where PayPal is used, payment processing is handled by PayPal. FITSTRONG does not need to store your complete card or PayPal login credentials.
Technical information
FITSTRONG may process technical information needed to provide, secure and troubleshoot the service, such as session information, device or browser information, IP address and server logs.
2. How we use your information
We use personal information only for purposes connected to providing and operating FITSTRONG, including to:
- create and manage your account;
- provide training programmes, workout calendars and exercise guidance;
- record and display completed workouts and training history;
- provide coaching, programme adjustments and coach feedback;
- calculate and display training, measurement and progress information;
- provide nutrition tracking and nutrition-related features where enabled;
- store and display progress photographs you choose to upload;
- generate progress reports and weekly summaries;
- support purchased self-guided programmes;
- support RacePace integration where you have enabled it;
- process or confirm programme purchases and account activation;
- send service-related messages, reminders or reports where enabled;
- provide technical support and troubleshoot problems;
- protect the security and integrity of the service; and
- meet applicable legal, accounting and regulatory obligations.
3. Health, fitness and other sensitive information
Some information processed by FITSTRONG may be sensitive, including injury information, medical information voluntarily supplied for coaching, pain notes, body measurements, body-composition information, nutrition records and progress photographs.
This information is used only to provide the FITSTRONG services you use, including coaching, training, nutrition support, progress tracking and related reporting. FITSTRONG does not sell this information or use it for third-party advertising.
4. Progress photographs
If you choose to upload progress photographs, they are associated with your FITSTRONG account and may be displayed in your progress features and reports. FITSTRONG will not use your progress photographs for public marketing or advertising without separate permission from you.
5. RacePace integration
RacePace integration is used only for accounts for which the integration has been enabled. Depending on the feature, FITSTRONG may send selected completed strength-session information to RacePace and may receive selected running, walking, cycling or swimming activity information from RacePace.
This exchange is used to coordinate training and coaching. RacePace is a separate service and its own privacy practices apply to information processed within RacePace.
6. Payments
Programme purchases may be paid using supported payment methods such as PayPal or EFT/manual payment. PayPal processes PayPal payments under its own terms and privacy policy. FITSTRONG may receive and retain information confirming the transaction, payment status, programme purchased and information required to activate the relevant account or programme.
7. Who we may share information with
FITSTRONG does not sell personal information. Information may be shared only where necessary to operate or provide the service, including with:
- hosting, database and technical service providers;
- payment providers such as PayPal;
- RacePace where the integration has been enabled for your account;
- email or communication providers used to send service-related notifications or reports;
- professional advisers where reasonably necessary; and
- government, regulatory or law-enforcement authorities where disclosure is required by law.
8. Data security
FITSTRONG uses reasonable technical and organisational safeguards to protect personal and sensitive information. Data transmitted between your device and FITSTRONG is protected using secure HTTPS connections. Access to coaching and administrative information is restricted to authorised users, and access controls are used to limit who can view or manage personal information.
No internet service can guarantee absolute security. FITSTRONG nevertheless takes reasonable steps to protect information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration or disclosure.
9. Data retention
Account, coaching, training, nutrition and progress information is generally retained while your FITSTRONG account remains active and for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service. If you request account deletion, associated personal information will be deleted or de-identified, except information that must be retained for legitimate legal, accounting, security, fraud-prevention or regulatory purposes.
Information that is no longer reasonably required will be deleted or de-identified where practicable.
10. Account and data deletion
You may request permanent deletion of your FITSTRONG account and associated personal information.
A deletion request may be submitted through the FITSTRONG account-deletion page at Account Deletion or by emailing maaike@fitstrongsa.com.
Once your identity and request have been verified, FITSTRONG will delete or de-identify personal information associated with your account, including training records, nutrition records, body measurements and uploaded progress photographs, except information that must be retained for legitimate legal, accounting, security, fraud-prevention or regulatory purposes.
11. Your privacy rights
Subject to applicable law, including South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), you may request access to personal information held about you, correction of inaccurate information, deletion where appropriate, information about how your data is used, or withdrawal of consent where processing is based on consent.

12. Children and younger athletes
FITSTRONG may provide training services to younger athletes where appropriate and lawful. Where consent from a parent or legal guardian is required, FITSTRONG may require that consent before collecting or processing the young athlete's personal information.
13. Third-party services
FITSTRONG may contain links to or integrations with third-party services. Those services operate under their own privacy policies, and their handling of information is governed by their own terms and privacy practices.
14. Changes to this Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time to reflect changes to FITSTRONG features, data practices or legal requirements. The latest version will be published on this page with an updated effective date.
